Former Indian Wasim Jaffer heaped praise on Glenn Phillips as the New Zealand all-rounder stunned the cricketing fraternity by taking a one-handed blinder to see the back of Virat Kohli in the Champions Trophy 2-25 clash on Sunday. Taking to X, Jaffer wrote, “Whoever said Kiwis can’t fly never saw Glenn Phillips field.”

The dismissal of Kohli occurred in the seventh over of the innings bowled by Matt Henry as Kohli cut the ball hard for a boundary through point. However, Phillips dived full throttle to take the catch, leaving Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma, who was at the stands, stunned. It was particularly gutting for Kohli, who was also featuring in his 300th ODI.

Both teams have carried out one change, with the Men in Blue resting pacer Harshit Rana and bringing in Varun Chakravarthy. The Kiwis have brought in Daryl Mitchell, while Devon Conway misses out.
