After a swashbuckling century in the previous match against Pakistan, Team India star Virat Kohli got dismissed for just 11 runs in the India vs New Zealand Champions Trophy match on Sunday. And just like millions of Indians, his wife, actress Anushka Sharma was also left disappointed at the batter’s wicket.

After scoring a sombre 11 runs out of 14 balls, Kohli hit the ball by New Zealand bowler Matt Henry towards the off-side, but Glenn Phillips went for a stunning flying catch, and sent the former Team India skipper walking back towards the dressing room.

Kohli too seemed momentarily stunned by Phillips’ marvellous catch, and as the entire Dubai International Stadium collectively sighed, Anushka was seen holding her forehead in disappointment. She also murmured something to her friends in the stands and looked visibly crestfallen.

The match between India and New Zealand on Sunday is quite important given that both the teams are eyeing the top spot in Group A, and whoever will win the match will secure it. With Kohli’s dismissal, New Zealand gained a significant advantage, and Phillips’ catch will surely be remembered as one of the highlights of the tournament.

Anushka was absent during the high-voltage India vs Pakistan match last Sunday when Kohli scored a massive century to propel India towards victory. However, as soon as the match ended, the batsman was seen getting his phone and video-calling his wife to share his joy with her.

Anushka too later put up a special post for Kohli on Instagram in which the cricketer was seen smiling at the camera, basking in the glory of his century.
