Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A district court has sentenced a man to life imprisonment for the murder of a youth over a financial dispute that took place four years ago. A minor was also involved in the case, whose trial is ongoing in the juvenile court. The incident dates back to September 5, 2021, near Ramchandra Nagar Square, where Pintu Dubey was fatally attacked. Pintu owned a paan shop nearby.
Around 8:30 pm, his elder brother, Sanjay Dubey, arrived at the shop while Pintu was talking to a neighbour. At that moment, two young men approached and started abusing him. They attacked him with iron rods. When Sanjay and other locals tried to intervene, the attackers hurled stones at them.
Pintu was struck twice with the pipe, causing severe injuries. As the assailants fled, one of them mentioned their minor accomplice’s name. During the attack, Vijay Solanki, Murlidhar alias Bunty, and Nikhil Bhagadhe also sustained injuries while trying to stop the assault. Pintu was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Following an investigation, police registered a murder case against Pawan Khatawase (23) and his minor accomplice, along with others.
After nearly four years of trial, the court pronounced its judgment. The court found Pawan guilty of murder and sentenced him to life imprisonment.
