Tata Curvv.ev Makes History – Completes 3,823 KM Kashmir to Kanyakumari EV Drive in Record Time |

Tata.ev, India’s leading electric car manufacturer, has set a new milestone by recording the fastest EV drive from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. The Curvv.ev, the brand’s SUV coupe, completed the 3,800 km journey in just 76 hours and 35 minutes—beating the previous record held by the Nexon EV MAX by over 19 hours. Along with this achievement, the Curvv.ev also secured 20 national records, further cementing its position as a breakthrough electric vehicle in India.

The Curvv.ev completed its record-breaking journey with just 16 charging stops, reducing total charging time from 28 hours to 17 hours. The journey began in Srinagar on February 25, 2025, at 4:00 AM, flagged off by Jammu & Kashmir’s Hon’ble Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah. Over the next three days, the SUV coupe tackled diverse weather conditions and terrains, relying on India’s expanding public charging network. The drive concluded in Kanyakumari on February 28, 2025, at 8:35 AM, where it was welcomed by Member of Parliament Thiru. Vijay Vasanth.

The Tata Curvv EV is available with two battery options: a 45kWh unit offering a claimed range of 502 km and a larger 55kWh battery with a range of 585 km. The 45kWh variant is powered by a 148bhp motor, while the 55kWh version, which we drove, delivers 165bhp. Both models generate 215Nm of torque, with Tata claiming a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 8.6 seconds, making it a quick performer. The Curvv EV is equipped with three driving modes—Eco, City, and Sport—along with four levels of regenerative braking to enhance efficiency. Charging is designed for convenience, with a 70kW DC fast charger enabling a 10-80% charge in just 40 minutes, while a 7.3kW home charger takes approximately 7-8 hours to fully charge the 55kWh variant.

Speaking about this remarkable expedition, Mr. Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., said, “We embarked on this exciting non-stop journey to showcase just how effortless, efficient, and comfortable long intercity drives can be with an EV. With plans to cover approximately 1,200 km each day, the Curvv.ev, underpinned by the innovative acti.ev pure EV architecture and 55 kWh battery, made this endurance challenge smooth and fatigue-free for the occupants. With public charging infrastructure having grown to over 18,000 charging points, every district in the 10 States and Union Territories the Curvv.ev passed was electrified with fast chargers. In addition to this, the Curvv.ev also benefited from the convenience of a rapidly growing high-speed charging network and smooth highways. This remarkable feat proves that a Tata EV can successfully complete a journey of this magnitude on par with an ICE-powered vehicle, eliminating concerns about range anxiety or charging infrastructure while maximizing comfort and cost efficiency on long road trips. The fact that we were able to eclipse our own record by 19 hours reflects the maturity of EV technology and its ecosystem. We are confident this brilliant showcase by the Curvv.ev will only increase confidence amongst potential customers to adopt zero-emission mobility by purchasing an EV while instilling pride amongst EV owners.”
