Palghar, Maharashtra: A 29-year-old man, Akshay Patil, was arrested on Thursday for allegedly attacking and injuring his fiancée at her workplace in Maharashtra’s Palghar district. According to police officials, the incident occurred after the man became enraged over the delay in their wedding plans.

The victim, a 23-year-old woman, and the accused had been engaged, but their wedding had been postponed for a year, with restrictions placed on their outings together. Frustrated by the situation, Patil reportedly visited his fiancée’s workplace on Wednesday and attacked her with a sharp weapon, causing injuries.

Following a complaint from the victim, police registered a case under Section 109 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code. The woman has been hospitalized for treatment, while Patil was apprehended shortly after the attack.
