Siddaramaiah sought guarantee from Amit Shah: There is a possibility of decrease in seats in South Indian states including Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka after the delimitation of Lok Sabha seats. Politics has been hot on this and not only Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin has called a meeting of all the parties of the state, but now the issue is getting caught up and Karnataka CM M Siddaramaiah has also sought a guarantee from the Center in this regard.

The issue of demarcation in South India gained momentum.

Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin also responded to Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement in which he said, “There will be no shortage in seats in Tamil Nadu or any other southern state.” Siddaramaiah said that if delimited according to the 2025 census, the seats of 5 states of South India will be reduced. Earlier, delimitation has been done on the basis of population and if the same formula remains this time, there will be loss.

CM MK Stalin sought guarantee from Amit Shah regarding delimitation

CM MK Stalin sought a guarantee from Home Minister Amit Shah that delimitation should be done on the basis of 1971 census. Siddaramaiah said, ‘It is true that if delimited on the basis of current population, the states of South India will suffer losses. To prevent this injustice, delimitation must be based on the figures of the 1971 census. If Home Minister Amit Shah says that only the figures of 1971 will be used, then it can be assumed that there will be no harm to the states of South India.

Responding to the concerns expressed by MK Stalin, Amit Shah said, “No state in South India will lose a single seat.” This issue is M.K. It was raised by Stalin and is now gaining momentum in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala and Karnataka.

Concern over the low representation of South in country politics

Many such reports are coming out in which it is being claimed that the Lok Sabha seats of UP and Bihar can be very high. Whereas seats in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala will either decrease or remain the same. Because of this, these states are also concerned about the low representation of the South in the politics of the country. From MK Stalin to Siddaramaiah, everyone is raising this issue.
