Jama Masjid Painting Case: Jama Masjid at Sambhal will be cleaned only. Painting and repair will not be possible. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has filed a report with photographs, stating that there is no need for painting. Justice Rohit Ranjan Aggarwal has given time to file a reply on the petition on the report. ASI has been asked to file a report with affidavits by Monday. The next hearing of the case will be held on 5 March.
The ASI had earlier rejected the application of the Jama Masjid Inter-Jamia Committee. The committee filed a petition in the High Court on this. The High Court formed a three -member committee of ASI on Thursday and sought a report on Friday. The petition has been opposed by the state government and the temple side.
