Jammu Kashmir School Winter Vacation 2025: The Jammu and Kashmir Education Department has extended the winter break for all government and private schools up to higher secondary level in the Kashmir Division and winter zones of the Jammu Division. The holidays have been prolonged until March 6th 2025, with schools reopening now on March 7th 2025, instead of the initially notified date of March 1, 2025. “The winter vacations declared vide Government Order No.521-JK(Edu) of 2024 dated 06.12.2024 for all Government/Private Schools upto higher secondary level of Kashmir Division and winter zone(s) of Jammu Division are hereby extended upto March 6th, 2025. The schools shall now reopen on March 7th, 2025 instead of March 1, 2025,” reads the notification.
Earlier, the Jammu and Kashmir administration had declared winter vacations for every public and recognised private school within the Kashmir division and winter areas of the Jammu division in two phases. Winter vacation up to Class 5 was from December 10, 2024, to February 28, 2025. For classes 6-12, vacation was from December 16, 2024, to February 28, 2025.
