Agra: A tech company employee died by suicide in Uttar Pradesh’s Agra. Manav Sharma accused his wife of harassment. He was found hanging in his room on Monday, February 24. Moments before his death, Sharma recorded an emotional video of nearly seven minutes. In the video message, the man could be seen crying. He appealed to the society to “think and talk about men”.
Sharma also alleged that his wife was having an extramarital affair. He apologised to his parents for ending his life. After Sharma’s death, his parents tried to file a complaint with Sadar Police. However, the officer of the police station allegedly did not file the complaint citing Maha Shivratri duties, reported News18. They then appealed to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath through the CM portal. The police then reportedly registered a case on the basis of a complaint received through WhatsApp.

According to reports, Sharma worked with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). In the video, a piece of cloth could be seen wrapped around Sharma’s neck and another end was tied to a fan. He appealed to authorities to frame laws to protect men.
“So, this is for the authorities. Authorities as in police and law enforcement… The law needs to protect men, or otherwise, there will come a time when there will be no men left. No man on whom you can shift blame,” he said as quoted by News18.
“Let me share my situation. It’s the same as many others… I found out that my wife was sleeping with someone else. But never mind, let it be,” he added.
“Someone please talk about men. They are very lonely,” he stated.
While apologising to his parents, Sharma said, “Dad sorry, Mummy sorry… But guys please understand, as soon as I go, everything will be fine. Everything will get better once I die. So, let me go.”
In the video, Sharma admitted that in the past also, he tried to end his life.
In December last year, 40-year-old Delhi bakery owner Puneet Khurana died by suicide. He was found hanging in his room in Model Town’s Kalyan Vihar area. Khurana spoke to his estranged wife before taking the extreme step. The businessman recorded the conversation. In the recording, the couple could be heard arguing over business issues. After Khurana’s death, his family blamed his estranged wife for pushing him to take the extreme step.
