Pakistan cricket legend Wasim Akram has stepped forward to offer his services to the national team without any fee, but with a clear message he won’t tolerate badtameezi (disrespect). Amid Pakistan’s disastrous exit from the Champions Trophy 2025, the former skipper expressed his desire to help revive Pakistan cricket but highlighted the ill-treatment meted out to former players working as coaches .

Speaking during a popular debate show called DP World Dressing Room, Akram addressed the harsh criticism that coaches face despite their contributions to Pakistan cricket.

He said,”I know people criticize me on and off. I don’t mind that. But when I see how Pakistani coaches like Waqar Younis who was sacked twice or thrice as coach, I look at his state and realise that I can’t be tolerating such treatment”.

The former left-arm pacer further added, “I am always available for free if you want to set up a camp or involve me with the team during any tournament. I will spend time with the players whenever I can. Whenever I have time, I am ready to serve Pakistan cricket. However, I cannot tolerate disrespect at this age”.

Pakistan’s interim head coach is Aaqib Javed and after the current debacle in Champions Trophy 2025, there is a strong speculation in the country that he along with the other coaching staff to be sacked.
