Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Two men, including one from Mandsaur, were arrested while they were carrying MD drugs worth Rs 2 crore on a bike in the Tejaji Nagar area, police said on Thursday.

The accused are being questioned for their source of drugs.

According to DCP (zone-1) Vinod Kumar Meena, the team of Tejaji Nagar police station IPS Aditya Singharia was deployed on Kasturbagram near Ralamandal on Wednesday night when two men on a bike tried to turn their vehicle to flee from the spot seeing the police.

They were chased and caught by the police. During a search, about 200 grams of MD drugs were recovered from them. The accused have been identified as Vijay Patidar of Mandsaur and Mohammad Shahnawaz of Azad Nagar area of the city.

The value of the drugs is Rs 2 crore in the international market. Their bike was also seized by the police.

A case under section 8/22 of the NDPS Act was registered against the accused and further investigation is on. Police believed that the accused had taken the drugs from another city to deliver them to someone here.
