The issue of excluding 21 Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs from Delhi Assembly is constantly being hot. AAP legislators today performed strongly outside the House against this decision. The MLAs led by Atishi raised their voice against the BJP government and called it against democracy. Now Atishi has written a letter to President Draupadi Murmu in this matter seeking time to meet him. He termed the BJP’s move as a “black day of democracy”.
Atishi asked for time to meet the President
Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Atishi said in a conversation with the media that “Today is a black day in the history of democracy.” He said that for the first time in the history of the country, this has happened that the elected MLAs were stopped outside the assembly gate. Taking a dig at the BJP, he said:
- “Why is BJP upset?”
- “AAP MLAs were excluded because we raised slogans of Baba Saheb Ambedkar!”
- “We shouted slogans of ‘Jai Bhima’, so the BJP dropped us out of the House.”
Atishi said that he has written a letter to President Draupadi Murmu seeking time to meet him. He said that a delegation of AAP MLAs will meet the President against the undemocratic move taken by the BJP.

The issue of suspension of MLAs raised in the house
The issue of expulsion of AAP MLAs also echoed inside the House. AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan from Okhla raised the subject in the House.
- Speaker Vijendra Gupta cited the rule book, explaining to him and said that the House means not only the assembly room, but the entire assembly complex.
- He said that if an MLA is excluded by Marshal, he will have to stay out of the entire assembly premises.
- Amanatullah Khan opposed this and said that “this has never happened before. Those people are sitting in the sun, please call them inside. “
- However, the speaker asked him not to change the subject and discuss the CAG report.
AAP MLAs demonstrated and accused on BJP
AAP MLAs attacked the BJP and said that “BJP is trying to crush democracy.” He said that “In a democratic country, when the voice of the opposition starts suppressed, it is a matter of concern.”
- Aam Aadmi Party leaders say that the BJP is getting scared of AAP, so the MLAs elected by the public are being forcefully excluded.
