Transgender soldiers will be identified within 30 days
According to US media reports, the service of transgender soldiers was questioned last month. After which US President Donald Trump took a big step and decided that now transgenders will not be recruited in the US Army.
Following Trump’s decision, the Pentagon issued a statement on Wednesday 26 February saying, “The US will have to identify transgender soldiers within 30 days”. The process of removing them from military service will then be started.
The process of identifying and removing transgender soldiers will begin.
In this regard, the Pentagon says, ‘This policy of the US government aims to maintain unity, honesty and humility among the soldiers. In addition, according to data from the US Department of Defense, there are currently about 1.3 million soldiers active in the US Army. However, transgender rights organizations say that around 15,000 transgender soldiers are currently active in the US Army.
The decision of the Biden administration was reversed.
Earlier, the US Army had banned the recruitment of transgender individuals in the army, reversing the policies implemented by the Biden administration. During this time it was decided to abolish all gender confirmation medical care, during which the army said in its statement that transgender individuals will no longer be admitted to the army and all medical procedures related to gender change for current service members will be discontinued.
This decision eliminated policies implemented by the Biden administration, which allowed transgender individuals to serve in the army and receive medical care.
