Thane: A man from Thane, living in Hiranandani Estate Patlipada, bites off a part of his friend’s ear and swallows it in a fit of extreme anger on Wednesday. The incident occurred after a party in the Solitaire Cooperative Housing Society in Hiranandani Estate.
According to the police, the victim, Shravan Leekha, a 37-year-old film producer, and the accused, Vikas Menon, a 32-year-old IT professional, both reside in Hiranandani Estate.
The victim told the police that he was at a party with his two friends at the Solitaire Cooperative Housing Society in Hiranandani Estate early on Wednesday morning when an argument broke out. During the argument, Menon suddenly became very angry and bit off a part of Leekha’s ear, swallowing it.
The victim, in severe pain, went to a nearby hospital with a bloody ear. After receiving the necessary treatment, he went to the Kasarvadavali police station to file a complaint about the incident.
Leekha stated, “He was my friend, and I don’t know what made him so angry. Now, I will have to undergo two surgeries to reconstruct my ear, which will cost Rs. 4-5 lakh. As of now, the doctor has only done the dressing of the ear,” according to a report by Hindustan Times.
Kasarvadavli police Senior Inspector Sunil Patil confirmed the incident and mentioned that the process of registering the case is currently underway.
Meanwhile, a similar incident happened in Indore (Madhya Pradesh). A man bites off other’s ear after the fight between him and a wine shop in Rau on Monday, February 12. The incident occurred at the wine shop near IPS College on AB road around 5 when the victim had gone to buy liquor.
