All-rounder Kunal Shirke was in impressive batting (unbeaten 91 runs) and bowling (3 for 37 runs) form and steered Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to a 79-run win against Mumbai Port Trust (MbPT) in a third-round league match of the 14th Insurance Shield T20 cricket tournament, organized by Oriental Insurance Company and played at Cross Maidan.
Batting first RBI inspired by Shirke’s heroics piled up a challenging total of 218 for 4 wickets from their 20 overs. Shirke’s teammate Mahesh Meena chipped in with a half-century effort of 61 runs. In reply, MbPT were dismissed for 138 runs. Sunil More and Lobhas Chachad were the only two batters to contribute with 44 and 31 runs respectively. Shirke was the most successful RBI bowler.
In another match, Group Satellite SC defeated BEST Arts & Sports Club by a comfortable 90-runs.
