Mahakumbh 2025: Strict arrangements have been made for bathing in the Mahakumbh of Mahashivaratri. There is a huge crowd of devotees in Prayagraj. The authorities have appealed to the people to take a holy bath at the nearby ghat instead of gathering at the confluence. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is in constant contact with the officials to get the bath smoothly completed on Mahashivaratri. Special arrangements have been made by the Railways for the movement of devotees. Know the special information about the event.

So far 64 crore devotees have arrived in Mahakumbh. Devotees are taking the last bath at the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna and Saraswati rivers today. With this, this Mahakumbh to be held every 12 years will end today.

– From Monday itself, crowds started gathering for Amrit bathing in the fair area. In view of the expected crowd of devotees for the last bath, the entire fair area was declared a ‘no vehicle zone’ from 4 pm on Tuesday evening.

– The government has made extensive arrangements for efficient crowd management, good hygiene and adequate medical facilities.

– 37,000 policemen and 14,000 home guards have been deployed in Mahakumbh for security arrangements, while 2,750 AI based CCTVs, three water police stations, 18 water police control rooms and 50 watch towers have been installed for the safety of devotees.

– Guests of many countries, including diplomat from 73 countries and King Namgyal Wangchuk of Bhutan, came here to take a dip in Mahakumbh. So far, more than 5 million people from Nepal have bathed in Triveni.

– About 8 crore devotees took a bath on the Mauni Amavasya in Mahakumbh, while 3.5 crore devotees took a bath on the occasion of Makar Sankranti. On 1 February and 30 January, 2 crore devotees took a dip in the Ganges and Sangam on Paush Purnima.

On the day of Vasant Panchami, 2.57 crore devotees took a bath in Triveni. More than two crore devotees took a bath in the Sangam on the important bathing festival of Maghi Purnima.

– After the stampede on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya on 26 January, special attention was paid to the arrangements, in which more than 30 people died and more than 60 were injured.

After this tragedy, political hot debate started, which included most of the opposition and BJP leaders. The opposition has repeatedly targeted the government, accusing Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of defaming religion and culture. Prime Minister Modi said that it reflects the “slave mentality”.

– Another major controversy was on reports stating that the Sangam water has fecal coliform bacteria and is not suitable for bathing. Yogi Adityanath replied and accused critics of spreading misinformation.
