The Maharashtra Legislative Committees were announced on Tuesday. The BJP, the largest party in the ruling Mahayuti alliance, released the list of newly appointed members. Notably, all the names on the list belong to BJP leaders. According to the party, the new committee members were appointed with the approval of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Maharashtra BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule, BJP working president Ravindra Chavan, and BJP legislative party chief whip Randhir Savarkar.
The absence of names from the Shiv Sena and NCP raised questions. Responding to this, Bawankule stated, “The committees were announced based on the lists submitted by the parties. Once Shiv Sena and NCP submit their names, they will also be included in these committees.” He added that more names for other committees would be announced soon.
