In the ongoing WPL match between Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Giants, Kashvee Gautam produced a brilliant delivery to dismiss Delhi Capitals skipper Meg Lanning.

The wicket came on the third ball of the fourth over when Kashvee bowled a sharp swinging delivery that crashed into the stumps. Overjoyed by the breakthrough, Kashvee celebrated enthusiastically, while Lanning, visibly frustrated, about to struck the stumps in disappointment.

Delhi Capitals dominated over Gujarat Giants

Delhi Capitals earlier dominated Gujarat Giants after electing to bowl first, restricting them to a modest total of 127/9. Gujarat had a poor start, losing four wickets for just 20 runs.

However, Bharti Fulmali played a crucial knock of 40 runs, while Deandra Dottin contributed 26, helping Gujarat reach a somewhat respectable total. For Delhi Capitals, Shikha Pandey, Marizanne Kapp, and Annabel Sutherland took two wickets each, while Titas Sadhu and Jess Jonassen picked up one wicket apiece.

In response, Delhi Capitals started strong despite losing their captain early. At the 10-over mark, they were comfortably placed at 86/2. Opener Shafali Verma played a blistering knock, scoring 44 runs, including five boundaries and three sixes, before getting dismissed. Jess Jonassen is currently unbeaten on 34, while Jemimah Rodrigues is at the crease with 2 runs.

For Gujarat Giants, Kashvee Gautam and Ashleigh Gardner managed to pick up one wicket each, but with Delhi Capitals in a commanding position, Gujarat will need quick breakthroughs to turn the game around. With a solid foundation set, Delhi Capitals are well on track to chase down the target and secure another victory in the tournament.
