Govinda and Sunita Ahuja’s 37-year marriage is reportedly in trouble, with rumours suggesting that the couple is heading for a divorce. Earlier, Sunita revealed that she and Govinda have been living in separate houses. Reports claim Govinda and Sunita Ahuja’s “contrasting lifestyle choices” are among reasons for the rift.
Now, Govinda has finally broken his silence on the ongoing divorce rumors and told ETimes, “There are only business talks going…..I am in the process of starting my films,” he said. Sunita is yet to react.
Earlier, Govinda’s manager Shashi Sinha reacted to the divorce rumours and told ETimes, “There have been issues between the couple due to certain statements made by certain members from the family. There is nothing more to it and Govinda is in process of starting a film for which artists are visiting our office. We are trying to resolve it. “
Govinda’s close family members have also dismissed the rumours, claiming that their bond was unbreakable. Reportedly, the actor is involved in an extramarital affair with a 30-year-old Marathi actress, which allegedly played a major role in their rumoured split. However, there has been no confirmation on the matter, and her identity remains undisclosed.
Govinda tied the knot to Sunita in March 11, 1987. The couple are parents to daughter Tina Ahuja and son Yashvardan Ahuja.
In January, Sunita talked about living separately with Govinda and told Pinkvilla’s Hindi Rush, “We have two houses, we have a bungalow opposite our apartment. I have my temple and my kids in the flat. We live in the flat whereas he gets late after his meetings. He loves talking so he’ll gather 10 people and sit chatting with them. Whereas me, my son and my daughter live together, but we hardly talk because I feel if you end up wasting your energy by talking too much.”
However, she later clarified her statement, stating that they can’t be separated and her bond with Govinda remains strong. She told Shirdi Today, “I have a lot of fun with him. There are people who want to break homes more than outsiders. I won’t let anyone break homes. I will win because Baba is with me.”
