Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Smart City Bus Collides With School Bus, Several Injured |
A Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC) Smart City bus collided with a private school bus, resulting in injuries to three students, a passenger, and the driver of the CSMC bus. The accident occurred near Sterlite Company in Bajajnagar on Monday afternoon.
The CSMC Smart City Bus (MH20 EL 0279) was traveling from Jogeshwari T-point to Chikalthana at around 1:30 pm. At the same time, a school bus from Podar English High School (MH20 GC 0997) was dropping students off at their homes. While taking a turn near the Sterlite Company, the school bus collided with the CSMC bus. The students – Viraj Mane, Shivansh Yadav, and Swaraj Deshmukh – were injured, while around 15 other students narrowly escaped injury. The students were frightened due to the accident.
Additionally, a passenger standing at the door of the CSMC bus fell to the ground and was severely injured. The driver of the CSMC bus, Krishna Bodkhe, also sustained minor injuries. The window panes of both buses were broken. Waluj MIDC police station PSI Dinesh Ban, constable Yashwant Gobade, and others rushed to the spot.
The students in the school bus were frightened and crying due to the sudden accident. People gathered at the scene and took the injured driver and students to a nearby hospital.
Fortunately, no one was seriously injured in the accident, but the issue of student and passenger safety due to careless driving was once again highlighted. The parents of the injured students rushed to the hospital after being informed.
The windows of both buses were broken, and glass shards were spread all over inside the buses. Some pieces of glass also went inside the school bags of the students. Residents have appealed for the implementation of strict traffic norms and action against those violating them.
