Baloch rebels attacked the Chinese mining project in Pakistan: In Pakistan, the Chinese project has once again been attacked and attacked. The convoy of 29 vehicles carrying goods related to the Sandak mining project operated by China in Pakistan has been attacked. The attack was carried out by Baloch rebels in Mangochhar’s Kalat. Baloch rebels first targeted a convoy of 20 vehicles using IEDs. Pakistani security forces were engaged in the protection of this convoy. The militants also opened heavy firing after the IED explosion.
A large number of Pakistani security forces reached the spot as soon as the news of the attack was received. Initially it was reported that 8 security personnel were injured in this case. However, later the Deputy Security Officer of Kalat confirmed that there was no Chinese citizen in the convoy.
Why is Chinese projects being targeted in Pakistan?
Balochistan is the most rich mineral resource in Pakistan. It is alleged that Chinese companies are exploiting resources in Balochistan through mining. It is being said that many Chinese companies have been mining minerals here since 2002. The Chinese company keeps half of this profit with it and gives 48 percent to Pakistan. Only 2 percent of this goes to Balochistan.
China’s growing concern
Let us tell you that for the last several years, there have been attacks on Chinese citizens in Pakistan. Two Chinese citizens were killed in a bomb blast by the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) rebels on 6 October last year. This raised concerns about the safety of Chinese citizens in Pakistan. In response to China’s growing concerns, the Pakistani government increased its security budget. In August last year, Pakistan allocated Rs 60 billion for ‘Operation Azam-e-Astiakam’ under its Rs 2.1 trillion defense budget.
