Bollywood filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan is being criticised for ‘mocking’ actor Gaurav Khanna after he revealed that he is ‘colour blind’ on Celebrity MasterChef India. Farah is the host of the cooking reality show whereas chef Ranveer Brar and Vikas Khanna are seen as judges.
Now, several social media users have slammed Farah for being ‘insensitive’ towards Gaurav. A section of users have also claimed that Farah’s humour is not at all funny.
What happened during the episode?
During one of the recent episodes, the celebrity contestants were asked to prepare Farah’s famous roast chicken as a part of a challenge.
They got a chance to taste the chicken prepared by Farah, but Gaurav, being a vegetarian, couldn’t try it himself and asked others to describe the flavour. Later, he completed his dish but struggled with the presentation.
The judges pointed out that he had chosen the wrong plate colour, which didn’t complement the dish well.
Gaurav then disclosed that he is colour blind, leaving Vikas surprised. Farah reacted, saying, “What rubbish.” She then tested him by asking if he noticed Vikas’ blue jacket, which was actually red. Gaurav simply replied that it appeared to be somewhere between orange and red to him.
Netizens slam Farah Khan
Reacting to the video on X (formerly known as Twitter), a user wrote, “It was incredibly ignorant on the judges’ part, especially Farah’s. I’m not saying he deserves sympathy for his weakness, he himself never sought it. However, that doesn’t give them the right to mock him or react the way they did. Shameful.”
“Seriously farah 😒🙄This is how you treat someone who is suffering with such a big ability. They way she reacted is such a crass 🤡 Day by day I am hating her more,” wrote another angry fan.
A user also expressed disappointment over Vikas’ reaction. “Didn’t expect this level of insensitiveness from the #CelebrityMasterChef judges especially VK. They couldn’t utter a single word of empathy for #GauravKhanna when he mentioned that he is colour blind. It is rubbish? Seriously? Disgusting,” wrote a fan.
