According to the University Grants Commission (UGC) guidelines, regular students of BA, BCom, BSC, BBA and BCA can opt for another graduate degree (UG) under one of the 20 programs and can get dual degrees. Are. These programs will be formally launched from the new academic session 2025-2026. The official announcement is expected from the university in the coming days.

The Executive Council will include the three heads nominated by the Vice Chancellor, four principals of the affiliated colleges nominated by the Chancellor, four teachers of the affiliated colleges nominated by the Chancellor, four senior officers nominated by the state government and one representative of the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce. The Vice Chancellor will be the chairman of the council and the registrar will be the member secretary.

According to the report of The Indian Express, Vice Chancellor Neerja Arun Gupta said that Gujarat University has considered a dual degree to reduce “timely” and “administrative troubles” for students. Officials said the move aims to face “financial and educational autonomy” and advanced competition with foreign universities.
