Mumbai: The Kalyan Dombivali Municipal Corporation (KDMC) announced on Monday that there will be a 12-hour water cut in the Kalyan and Dombivali areas on February 27. This disruption will occur from 10 AM to 10 PM on Thursday due to maintenance and repair work on water channels.

The areas affected by the water cut include Kalyan East, a part of Kalyan West, and the entire Dombivli East and West areas. During this time, essential maintenance work will be carried out at the Mohili Pumping Station.

The maintenance work will involve replacing faulty valves in the Dombivli division and repairing the main water pipelines in the Kalyan East and Dombivli divisions.

KDMC posted on X, stating, “To maintain smooth water supply in Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation area, to carry out essential technical works at Mohili Udanchan Kendra, to replace faulty valves in Dombivli section, to repair the main water channels of Kalyan East and Dombivli section etc. on Thursday. On 27/02/2025 from 10 am to 10 pm, the water supply from Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation’s twelve, Mohili and Netivali Water Purification Centers will be closed to the entire Kalyan East, some parts of Kalyan West, entire Dombivli East and West areas”.

KDMC requested citizens to cooperate during the situation and store enough water before the water cut. This repair and development work came after the municipality received several complaints from the citizens.

Due to a leak in the primary water channel, the valves in Kalyan and Dombivli have been damaged, causing water to flow onto the road. This has created issues for both drivers and pedestrians. Because of this, the valve repair will also be carried out on a priority basis.
