Indian -origin astronaut Sunita Williams and her partner Buch Wilmore are going to return to Earth soon after being stuck in space for 9 months. According to NASA officials, they are expected to return after Holi. Preparations are in full swing at the space station for this much awaited return. Sunita Williams recently participated in a special refresher session for re -entry into the Earth.

Sunita Williams and her team will enter the Earth’s atmosphere through SpaceX Dragon Crew Spacecraft. He, along with the Crew-9 mission team, practiced reantary procedures on the computer to ensure that the return is completely safe.

Team will change with crew-10 mission, return will be returned on March 19

NASA’s crew-10 mission will be launched on 12 March from Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Under this mission, ISS will be sent to ISS, NASA’s Anne McClen and Nicole Aeries, Russian Space Agency Cosmonott Kiril Peskov, and astronaut of Japanese Space Agency (JAXA).

A week after Crew-10 arrives, Sunita Williams and Buch Willmore will return on 19 March.

Why remained stuck in space for 9 months?

Sunita Williams and her team had to spend extra time in space unnecessarily due to technical problems of the Boeing Starlineer spacecraft. Due to this delay, he had to stay in space for nine months. Now their return will be through the SpaceX crew dragon vehicle, which is considered an important step towards improving crew rotation and safety standards.

Mission will gain speed with SpaceX and NASA partnership

The first used dragon spacecraft for crew-10 mission will be reused. This step will prove to be important to speed up the launch process and ensure the continuous success of NASA’s commercial crew program.
