Ukrainian President Volodimir Jailonsky has made a new proposal to Russia to end the war between Russia and Ukraine for the last three years. Under this proposal, it has been suggested to exchange all the warfasts of the two countries.
Jailonski’s peace proposal
According to the AFP report, Jilensky called upon Russia to release Ukrainian prisoners from Russia at a summit held in Kiev on the third anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. They said,
“Russia should release all Ukrainian prisoners. In return, Ukraine is also ready to release all Russian warfasts. This can be a proper way to start the peace process. ”

Already, there has been a exchange of prisoners
According to Ukrainian media reports, in October 2024, Russia and Ukraine exchanged 95–95 prisoners in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) mediation. Other than this,
- In September 2024, 103 prisoners were swapped.
- It will be the 58th time since the war started in 2022 when the issue of release of prisoners has arisen.
However, this process has come to a standstill since October 2024.
Speculation of agreement between America and Russia
This proposal has come at a time when Russia and America are moving fast towards ending Ukraine War.
- It is believed that under the pressure of US President Donald Trump, Gelnsky may have to bow down or leave the country.
- According to reports, there is also talks between Russia and the US to divide Ukraine areas among themselves.
- Russia may agree not to return its occupied areas.
- The US can control regions with mineral wealth of Ukraine.
Ukraine tour of European leaders
On Monday, European and Canadian leaders reached Ukraine’s capital Kiev on the occasion of the completion of three years of the Russia-Ukraine war.
Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andree Sibiha and the President’s Chief of Staff Andree Jermac welcomed foreign leaders.

European Commission Chairman Ursula von Der Leyen Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau European Council President Antonio Costa Prime Minister of many countries of Northern Europe
Von Der Leyen wrote on the social media platform ‘X’ (East Twitter),
“Europe is in Kyiv because Ukraine is in Europe. In this battle of existence, not only Ukraine but the future of the whole of Europe is at stake. ”
The purpose of meeting these leaders is to participate in meetings on the anniversary of the war and to form a strategy to support Ukraine amidst the new US policies.
It will now be interesting to see how Russia reacts to Jailonski’s proposal and what is the future of Ukraine by a possible agreement between the US-Russia.
