Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Van Vihar National Park has deployed two snake catchers and two honey bee attack handlers at the Global Investors Summit (GIS) venue, located at Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangralaya (IGRMS).
The decision was made due to the abundant vegetation at the venue, which could potentially provide hiding spots for snakes.
In the event of a snake sighting, the handlers are prepared to act swiftly to catch the reptile. Alongside them, two honey bee attack handlers have been stationed at the venue, equipped with at least five blankets to deal with any bee attacks.
A senior official from the Forest Department confirmed that bee hives have already been removed from the GIS venue and other locations such as the airport to ensure safety.
In addition to the personnel stationed at the GIS venue, Van Vihar management also sent a team of snake experts to inspect the tent city located in the Khushilal Institution area.
The team thoroughly checked every corner of the tent city for potential snake presence. This proactive measure is part of ongoing efforts to ensure the safety of attendees at the GIS event.
Van Vihar to remain closed on Monday, Tuesday
Van Vihar National Park will remain closed on Monday and Tuesday in view of the GIS.
The decision has been made for security reasons to ensure safety of both visitors and wildlife. However, regular patrolling by the forest team will continue during the closure.
To further secure the area, two check post teams have been deployed near the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangralaya (IGRMS) to prevent any wild animals from sneaking into the GIS venue.
