Rohit Sharma’s poor form with the bat continued after he was dismissed by Shaheen Afridi for 20 runs during Champions Trophy match. Pakistan’s left arm seamer produced genm of delivery to dismiss Team India skipper who looked in good touch.

On the final ball of the fourth over a full, fast inswinging yorker from Afridi went through right between bat and boot of Rohit Sharma and castled onto the middle stump to leave the fans stunned.

Before getting out Rohit Sharma etched his name in the record books with a historic milestone during the ICC Champions Trophy clash against Pakistan at the Dubai International Stadium. Surpassing the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit set a new world record after scoring just a single run in the match, further solidifying his reputation as one of the greatest openers in ODI cricket.

With that one run, Rohit became the fastest player to reach 9,000 runs as an ODI opener, achieving the feat in just 181 innings. This surpasses Tendulkar’s previous record of 197 innings, making Rohit the first batsman to reach the milestone in under 190 innings.

Additionally, he joined an elite club of only six players who have amassed over 9,000 runs as an opener in ODIs. While Rohit has now stamped his authority in this category, Sachin Tendulkar remains the leading run-scorer as an opener in the format.

Pakistan bowled out below 250 by India

Pakistan at the end of their innings got to the total of 241. India bowled the Pakistani side inside the 50 overs. The pick of the bowler for India was Kuldeep Yadav who took 3 wickets by giving away just 40 runs. Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Harshit Rana and Ravindra Jadeja also took crucial wickets for India. India need 242 runs to win the against Pakistan.
