Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan today visited the natural agricultural farm of Gurukul Kurukshetra along with Gujarat Governor Shri Acharya Devvrat ji. They were affected by the excellent quality of crops and extremely soft and fertile soil. On this occasion, Shivraj Singh Chauhan announced the formation of the National Committee for the expansion and monitoring of natural farming. He said that committees will also be formed at the state level, which will submit a report to the government on the progress of organic farming through DDOs.

 

Internationally established as a successful model
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that the Natural Agricultural Mission launched by Governor Acharya Devvrat ji is now taking the form of a mass movement as the National Natural Agricultural Mission. Through this campaign, the farmers of the country will not only become financially rich, but it will improve soil fertility, protect friendly organisms and save up to 50 percent water. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan honored Governor Acharya Devvrat ji with the title of ‘Krishi Rishi’ to establish natural farming as a successful model at national and international level and said that Acharya Devvrat ji in the interest of humanity Natural farming has been carried forward as a mission, due to which revolutionary changes in the agriculture sector have been possible.
Extreme praise for quality and production capacity
Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan along with Governor Acharya Devvrat ji saw the mixed agricultural system of wheat, gram, jaggery and mustard on the farm and praised its quality and production capacity. He said that this is an excellent example of natural farming, in which good yield can be obtained even without the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan expressed surprise to see the dragon fruit, apple and date gardening in the natural farming farm. The cultivation of apples and dates cannot be imagined on the land of Haryana, but this amazing work has been possible under the guidance of Acharya Devvrat ji.
Observe the traditional process of making Khandasari
On the crusher of Gurukul Farm, Shivraj Singh Chauhan and Acharya Devvrat Ji themselves crushed sugarcane and visited the traditional process of making jaggery, sugar and khandasari. He tasted hot jaggery and appreciated its purity and quality. On this occasion, Haryana Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana, Additional Secretary, Union Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. Maninder Kaur Dwivedi, Joint Secretary Franklin L.K. Khobang, Purna Chandra Krishna, Deputy Secretary Rachna Kumar, Dr. Gagnesh Sharma, famous natural agricultural experts Dr. Hariom, Dr. Baljeet Saharan, Dr. Rajendra Vidyalankar were present and officials and agricultural experts of Agriculture Department were present. Gurukul President Rajkumar Garg, Vice President Ma. Satpal Kamboj, Director Bri. Dr. Praveen Sharma, Dr. Rajendra Vidyalankar, Dr. Hariom, Dr. Baljeet Saharan, Ramnivas Arya etc. welcomed the minister warmly.
