Donald Trump USAID Program: The statement of US President Donald Trump has led to a dispute in India. In which he claimed that the US had given $ 21 million to increase the voting percentage in India. Trump repeatedly claimed that this funding came from the Biden government and can be used to intervene in India’s elections. However, a report by the Washington Post has proved the claim to be false. In which it was said that no such funding has been given to India. On this issue, a sharp political tension has started between the ruling party BJP and the opposition in India.

Donald Trump accused

Donald Trump first expressed concern that India was given $ 21 million so that the voting percentage could be increased in this election. This fund was established for election -related activities during Biden administration. Why was the money of American taxpayers used for such an agenda? Although Trump did not present any concrete evidence in favor of this charge, this claim has launched a new wave of debate.

India, not Bangladesh, got funding

The US President’s statement came after an American report stating that according to the official and internal program data of USAID, there is no record of any such program. In fact, USAID’s Rs 21 million was given to Bangladesh instead of India.

US officials response

Reacting to Trump’s statement, USAID officials said, “We are shocked by this charge.” A senior official said, “The organization has never been involved in the Indian elections, which proves Trump’s claim baseless.” Another official confirmed that the US government did not have a record of any program that can confirm Trump’s statement. In India, this issue was immediately adopted as a political weapon. The BJP accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of taking foreign help to weaken the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. However, the Congress is retaliation by making the Washington Post report a weapon.

Congress response

Congress spokesperson Pawan Kheda has attacked the BJP citing an American report. He posted on the social media platform X, “This recent revelation on the so -called American funding to increase voting in India shows that no such program existed nor has any such funding.” Now the BJP and its supporters will stop speaking.

What was the entire funding dispute?

An American media report showed that the USAID financing program was actually not for India, but for Bangladesh. The $ 21 million was given a part of a large package of $ 486 million, which was provided through CEPPS (consortium for reinforcement of election and political process) to strengthen electoral processes in various countries).

The mission of USAID is to support democratic institutions worldwide. However, the claim of direct intervention in the election of any country has been rejected. India, the world’s largest democracy, has always ensured that its elections are free from any foreign influence, and Indian officials have reiterated this stance even in the midst of this dispute.
