Bengaluru: The residents of the Silicon City of India is set to experience hot weather on Sunday, February 23, 2025. Bengalurians witnessed the Sunrise at 06:39 AM, and the Sun is expected to set at 6:27 PM. Recently, the city has noticed an unusual weather pattern, with temperatures in Garden City exceeding those in the national capital, Delhi, by nine degrees.

The India Meteorological Department forecasts that Garden City will experience a hotter summer than Delhi in 2025. The temperatures recorded this February are 2.7 degrees Celsius, higher than those recorded in February 2024.

The minimum and maximum temperature is expected to around 20 degrees Celsius and 32 degrees Celsius, respectively. The humidity is expected to be around per cent and the wind is expected to blow steadily for the East at 18 km/h. The AQI is expected to stand at 140 which indicates moderate air quality in the city and its surrounding areas.

Why are temperatures rising in Bengaluru?

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the lack of northern winds is a key factor contributing to the rising temperatures in the city. These northern winds play a crucial role in regulating temperatures.

The ongoing La Niña phenomenon is another reason for the hot and humid weather. This phenomenon, which cools the ocean in the equatorial Pacific, significantly impacts global weather patterns, including those in Silicon City, India.

Weather forecast for February 24

According to the IMD, Bengalurians will wake up at 06:38 AM, and the Sun will likely set at 6:28 PM on Monday, February 24, 2025. The minimum and maximum temperatures will likely hover around 18 degrees Celsius and 31 degrees Celsius, respectively. The humidity is expected to be around 56 per cent.
