Hence it has become a big record for Mahakumbh Mela.
In a total of one and a half months, about 12 to 15 crore devotees traveled by rail. The statement said that Indian Railways run additional trains to deal with this crowd and effectively managed traffic to avoid congestion.
The statement said that these trains have been implemented to ensure smooth and efficient journey for devotees across the country. 3.6 crore devotees have taken advantage of the Railways to participate in Mahakumbh, one of the world’s largest religious fairs. About 92 percent trains were Mail, Express, Superfast, Passenger and MEMU services. In which 472 capital and 282 Vande Bharat trains ran. According to the ANI report, about half trains ran from Uttar Pradesh, followed by 11 percent from Delhi, 10 percent from Bihar and 3 to 6 percent from Maharashtra, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujarat.
Since the beginning of the Mahakumbh Mela, 13,667 trains have arrived at Prayagraj and nearby stations so far. Of these, 3468 special trains left from Kumbh region, 2008 came from other places and 8211 regular services. Prayagraj Junction alone operated 5332 trains. Which gave great relief to the passengers.
