Between October 2024 and January 2025, foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold $ 24 billion in oil and gas, financial, auto, FMCG, consumer and ten-unit areas.

 

This was said in NSDL data. During this period, foreign investors bought shares worth $ 3 billion in information technology (IT), realty, textiles and four other areas. In the last four months, FPI has sold shares worth $ 21 billion in the Indian stock market. Sensex and Nifty declined by nine percent during this period. While comprehensive BSE midcap and BSE smallcap indices declined by 13 percent.
