The body found at Nhava creek on Friday while the police were searching for 50 year old Vaibhav Pingalay who had jumped off from Atal Setu, has been identified that of Nizamuddin Nisar Sayyed (34), a resident of Chita Camp, Trombay. On Friday morning, 50 year old Vaibhav Pingalay from Alibag had jumped from Atal Setu bridge. Ulwe police were hunting for Pingalay when they found the body of Sayyed floating at Manik Tok, Nhava creek.

“Upon circulating photographs among local police stations, the deceased was identified. Investigations revealed that Sayyed had jumped into the water from Vashi Creek Bridge on February 10, due to financial distress. A missing person report was filed at Vashi police station then,” assistant police inspector Ajit Kanse from Ulwe police station said.

The authorities immediately informed Sayyed’s family and directed them to the Sub-District Hospital in Panvel wherein the body was handed over to.

Meanwhile, on Saturday morning, a boat of fishermen found the body of Pingalay as well. “The relatives identified the body and was later taken for further procedures to the sub district hospital of Panvel,” senior police inspector Arjun Rajane from Ulwe police station said.
