Along with this, by offering it to Lord Shiva, all our sufferings are eliminated and the grace of Lord Shiva always remains on us.

According to Shivpuran, the bilvapatra should not be broken on certain days. For example, Chaturthi, Ashtami, Navami, Chaturdashi, Amavasya, Sankranti and Monday are forbidden to break paan. If you have first used the Billy Patra, you can wash it and offer it to Lord Shiva again. Cat leaves are never stale.

You can also chant this mantra – ‘Tridalam Triganakaraman Trinetram Ch Triyayudham’. The sins of three births are forgiveness, one is a sacrifice of Shiva. It is a complete Bilvashtak, which is recited and worshiped to please Lord Shiva.
