A speeding WagonR car collided with a motorcycle near Kalamboli Circle early Thursday morning, resulting in the death of one man and injuries to two others. The Kalamboli police have registered a case against the driver for reckless and negligent driving.

The deceased has been identified as Dhananjay Mugavkar (27), while the injured are Umakant More (24) and Rohit Patil (25). All three victims worked as nursing staff at MGM Hospital in Kamothe and lived atn the hospital premises.

According to police reports, the trio had borrowed a doctor friend’s motorcycle late Wednesday night and went to a food stall near Kalamboli Circle for dinner. “Around 1 am, while returning to MGM Hospital via Kalamboli Steel Market Road, a speeding WagonR car struck their motorcycle from the left, throwing all three riders onto the road,” a police officer said.

They were immediately rushed to MGM Hospital, where Mugavkar was pronounced dead due to severe head injuries. The other two sustained injuries but are currently in stable condition.

Following the accident, Kalamboli police registered a case against the WagonR driver and have initiated further legal action.
