Royal Challengers Bangalore has appointed Rajat Patidar as its captain for IPL 2025. In the last season i.e. IPL 2024, Faf du Plessis took command of the team. Earlier there was a discussion that Virat Kohli would once again be made the captain of the team, but it did not happen. The team has decided to hand over the captaincy to Patidar. Rajat Patidar joined RCB in 2021. And now he is an important part of the team.

Royal Challengers Bangalore have made a major change before the start of IPL 2025. Royal Challengers Bangalore have confirmed their new IPL captain. Rajat Patidar has become the new captain of the team. Earlier, Virat Kohli was at the forefront of this post, who led the franchise from 2013 to 2021. He was also captain for three matches in IPL 2023. Rajat Patidar has been with RCB since 2021 and was one of his three retainers before the mega auction in November. 31-year-old Patidar led his state team Madhya Pradesh in 2024-25 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy sessions.
