Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A 24-year-old woman was brutally attacked by her husband on suspicion of infidelity. The incident took place on Wednesday in the Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh. The accused, allegedly, gouged both her eyes with a knife and inflicted multiple injuries to her, including cuts on her private part.
The couple, married for over three years, used to quarrel on a regualar basis. Reportedly, the accused fled the scene after commiting the crime. The injured victim was taken to the district hospital where her condition remains critical. Police have taken cognizance of the matter and further investigation is underway.
According to information, the accused, identified as Chotu Khan, a resident of Pohri area in the district married the 24-year-old victim woman three years ago. According to sources, Khan had been suspecting her wife to be involved with some other man. Due to the suspicions, the couple fought regularly. On Wednesday, Khan demanded to check her phone. The victim refused and resisted.
Angry, Khan took a knife and started attacking her. He began by inflicting deep cuts all along her body and her private parts. He then gouged both her eyes with the same knife. He then left the victim there and fled the scene. Hearing the tussle, neighbours informed the victim’s family. The family took the victim to the district hospital where her treatment is underway.
Police Investigation
Family of the victim, after taking her to the hospital, informed the police. Police took statements of the victim and her family and filed an FIR on the basis of the same. A manhunt has been launched for the accused and further investigations are underway.
