India’s star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the Champions Trophy due to a lower back injury. After his exclusion, he shared a glimpse on social media by posting a mirror selfie from his training session at the NCA in Bengaluru with the caption, “Rebuilding.”

On Tuesday, BCCI announced that star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy due to a lower back injury, dealing a major setback to Team India. The selection committee has added young pacer Harshit Rana as his replacement in the squad.

Jasprit Bumrah’s performance in ICC T20 World Cup 2024

Bumrah was a key player in India’s T20 World Cup 2024 triumph, finishing as the joint second-highest wicket-taker with 15 wickets in eight matches. He was also named Player of the Tournament after India’s historic win.

With Bumrah being sidelined, the responsibility of leading India’s pace attack will now be on Mohammed Shami, who recently returned to international cricket after recovering from an injury.
