Good News: Water Sports Academy Soon In Satara District – Here’s What You Need To Know |
Highlighting the significant potential for water tourism in Satara district, Guardian Minister of Satara District Shambhuraj Desai on Wednesday said that the Tourism Department intends to set up a Water Sports Academy in the district as soon as possible.
A review meeting of the Tourism Department was held under the chairmanship of Desai in Mumbai. On this occasion, it was highlighted that there is a lot of scope for water tourism in Satara district. Against this backdrop, Desai informed that the Tourism Department intends to set up a Water Sports Academy in the district as soon as possible.
Director of the Tourism Department BN Patil, Managing Director Manoj Kumar Suryavanshi, Superintendent Engineer Borse, and other key officers were present on this occasion.
Satara District Collector Santosh Patil, Deputy Conservator of Forests Aditi Bhardwaj, Superintendent Engineer of the Water Resources Department Jayant Shinde, and other key officers were present through the video conferencing system (VC).
Water tourism for tourists
On this occasion, Minister Desai said, “Lakhs of tourists visit Mahabaleshwar, the most popular hill station in the state, every year. Along with this, work should be started to set up a water sports academy in Satara district so that they can also enjoy water tourism.”
“Boat clubs are being built in Munawale, Koyna Nagar, Helwak, and Paparde in the district. Boating facilities are available in some of them. However, water tourism will not be limited to boating only, but tourists will get a different experience if there is a water sports academy,” he added.
He also gave instructions to work in such a way that after the implementation of this project, employment will be provided to the local youth on priority. He also gave instructions to provide training to the youth and to make all these projects run on solar energy.
