The Australian team led by senior player Steve Smith will hit the field without their experienced fast bowler Mitchell Starc in the Champions Trophy.

Stark has decided to withdraw from the Champions Trophy for personal reasons. The ODI World Cup champion Australia has to make several changes in its 15 -member team. Regular captains Pat Cummins, all -rounders Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Marsh are injured. Stoinis has retired prematurely from the ODI format.

Chief selector George Bailey said, “We respect Stark’s commitment.” He had a knee problem in the final phase of the Test match in Gaul last week. He cannot even play in the ODI team. Stark has insisted on respecting personal reasons and will not react to it. Fast bowlers Spencer Johnson, Nathan Ellis, Sean Abbott and Ben Divarsis have been included in the team.

Australian Team: Steve Smith (captain), Scene Abbott, Alex Carrie, Ben Dwarshis, Nathan Ellis, Jack Fraser-Macgark, Aaron Hardy, Josh Angleis, Spencer Johnson, Marnas Labushen, Glenn Maxwell, Tanvi Sangh, Matthew Short, Adam Zampa. Traveling Reserve: Cooper Konoli.
