Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A UPSC aspirant girl, who was hit by a speeding bike in the Azad Nagar area a few days ago, succumbed to her injuries in a city hospital late on Tuesday. Her friend also got injured and is undergoing treatment in a city hospital.

The deceased has been identified as Shruti Chouhan (24), a resident of Rasdhandhali village in Khargone district. She along with her friend Renu Balke, a resident of Rupkheda village in Khargone was crossing the road when a bike hit them on Ring Road near Musakhedi Square on February 3 injuring them critically.

Shruti was unconscious so the police could not record her statement. After completing her BE, Shruti was preparing for UPSC and was staying in a rented accommodation in Pawanpuri in Palda area with her friend Renu.

Azad Nagar police station in charge Vijay Sisodiya informed Free Press that preliminary investigation revealed that Shruti and Renu had gone to meet their friends in Scheme Number 94.

While returning from there, they were hit by a bike rider when they were crossing the road. The bike rider was caught by the police and further action is being taken against him. It is said that Shruti’s father is a farmer and he had sold some of his land for her studies and her preparation of the competitive exams. Her body was handed over to her parents after an autopsy examination on Wednesday.
