Auspicious time of Holika Dahan

The auspicious time of Holika Dahan will be from 11:26 pm to 12:30 pm on 13 March. The total duration of Holika Dahan will be 1 hour and 4 minutes.

Worship method on the day of Holika Dahan

To worship Holika Dahan, first make idols of Holika and Prahlad from cow dung and keep it in a plate.

Fill rolls, flowers, moong, coconut, whole turmeric, batasha, raw cotton, fruit and urn in it.

Then while meditating on Lord Narasimha, offer them roli, sandalwood, five types of grains and flowers.

After this, take a thread of raw yarn and revolve around Holika seven times.

Finally add rose petals and offer water.

Importance of Holika Dahan

The importance of Holika Dahan is beyond mythology. The tradition of burning Holika is a symbol of the purity of the soul and the purity of the mind, which prepares individuals for the celebration of Holi. Apart from this, Holika Dahan is also related to the agricultural cycle. This festival is a symbolic offering to God for a lot of crop and a prayer to receive his blessings for prosperity and abundance in the coming year.
