Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, died today at SGPGI, Lucknow. The hospital has confirmed this. He was admitted to SGPGI on 3 February and was kept in the neurology ward HDU after brain stroke.
According to PGI Director Dr. RK Dhiman, he is undergoing treatment under the supervision of doctors. Apart from brain stroke, Satyendra Das also had many other diseases. Despite much efforts, his life could not be saved. When he was hospitalized a few days ago, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also came to meet him and asked him about his well being.
The Ram Mandir Trust has expressed grief over the death of Satyendra Das. There is also a wave of mourning in the monasteries of Ramnagar. He was recently admitted to PGI after his health deteriorated. He was undergoing treatment at Lucknow PGI. The Ram Mandir Trust has confirmed the death of Acharya Satyendra Das.
Satyendra Das Maharaj, the chief priest of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, breathed his last at PGI in Lucknow on Wednesday at around 7 am on the auspicious occasion of Magh Purnima. He had been worshiping Shri Ramlala since 1993. Champat Rai, general secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi pilgrimage area, and others associated with the temple system have expressed deep grief over the death of the Chief Acharya.
