Mumbai – Gamdevi police in South Mumbai arrested 12 members of a gang of cyber fraudsters from three states in a cryptocurrency scam of Rs 30 crore. These fraudsters were involved in an international gang to cheat people across the country. The police have detected a total of 110 bank accounts associated with the accused. Out of which 30 crore rupees have been recovered.

The arrested accused were identified by Rajendra Bhagirath Singh, Praveen Dattu Lodhe, Sandeep Vishnupant Kakde alias Pappu, Aditya Mahendra Kulkarni, Atul Rajendra Koli, Fajlesul Ahmed, Piyush Prakash Aggarwal, Namdev Vishnu Kale alias Tatya, Shivaji Sahebrao Salunke, Gurvinder Balvinder Singh , Sagar alias Keshav Kulkarni, Darshan has been in the form of Mhatre. All of them were arrested last month.

Darshan Mhatre, accused in the case of converting Indian currency into a cryptocurrency, was arrested from Goa on Saturday. According to police sources, Rajendra Singh is the mastermind of the scam. He is a native of Rajasthan but he described himself as a Cambodian citizen. According to police sources, Singh and Kulkarni had gone to Cambodia earlier and worked together in a company associated with cyber fraud.

According to police sources, there was a fraud of one lakh rupees two months ago from a 74 -year -old elderly person living in the complainant Gamdevi. The fraudsters approached him and persuaded him to invest in the stock market. They are Rs. After transferring one lakh rupees, he was suspected of cheating and contacted the police and lodged a complaint. The Gamdevi police registered a case under Section 318 (4), 111 and Section 66 (C) (D) of the IT Act and further investigated.

During the investigation, the police came to know that the amount was deposited in the bank account of Keshav Kulkarni, resident of Mohol, Solapur. After withdrawing this cash, it was converted into cryptocurrency and sent to Cambodia. DCP Mohit Garg said that the entire scam was exposed during the police investigation.
