In good news for Punekars heading to the Maha Kumbh Mela, IndiGo has announced a direct flight from Pune to Prayagraj, starting February 16.

The flight will operate on all days except Saturdays. These flights will commence operations on February 16 and may continue until the Mahakumbh concludes, which reportedly is on February 26.

Flight 6E 2062 will depart from Prayagraj at 11:10am and arrive in Pune at 1:10pm. The return flight 6E 2065 will take off from Pune at 2pm and land in Prayagraj at 4:10pm.

With this, IndiGo has become the fourth airline to operate a Pune-Prayagraj flight. Akasa Air, SpiceJet and Air India have all launched flights between these two cities. However, all of them operate with layovers, which makes IndiGo the first airline to launch a direct Pune-Prayagraj flight.

Meanwhile, many passengers have expressed concerns over the exorbitant ticket prices of the flights to Prayagraj. Airfares for these flights reportedly start at Rs 20,000 and go up to Rs 60,000, making travel difficult for pilgrims. In response to this, the civil aviation ministry has asked airlines to maintain reasonable prices.
