Mumbai: Juhu residents and pet lovers have a new reason to celebrate with the opening of a dedicated Pet Park, providing much-needed space for pets in the city. Located opposite the Novotel Hotel on Juhu Beach, the park was developed using the funds of local BJP MLA Ameet Satam.
The park was inaugurated by filmmaker and social activist Ashoke Pandit in the presence of a large gathering of residents. Work on the project began in September, and it is now open to the public. “This Pet Park is one of the seven gardens on Juhu Beach and is part of the ongoing efforts to enhance green spaces in the city,” said Satam.

Once BMC Garden, Later Turned To Dumping Space, Now A Park
Highlighting the transformation of the space, Satam stated, “This park was once a BMC garden that had turned into a dumping ground and a hotspot for anti-social activities. Now, it has been converted into a beautiful pet-friendly area, offering a safe and enjoyable space for pets and their owners.”
Explaining the vision behind the project, Satam said, “Over the past decade, I have developed 60 gardens in Andheri (West). While working on these projects, I felt the need for a dedicated pet park, and residents also voiced their demand. This led to the creation of this park, which offers pets a place to play and socialise.”
The initiative aims to provide a cleaner, greener and pet-friendly environment in Juhu, furthering efforts to improve public spaces in the city.
