If you travel daily from Noida Expressway, then you need to be more vigilant. Now if your car deteriorated in the middle way and traffic is obstructed, then you may have to pay a heavy fine of up to Rs 20,000.
Noida Traffic Police has implemented the “Breakdown Challan” rule, under which if a vehicle damage on the middle road and causes traffic jams, the vehicle can be confiscated along with heavy invoices.
What is the “Breakdown Challan” rule?
- If a car is bad on the Noida Expressway and blocks the traffic, it will be challaned.
- The challan amount can range from ₹ 5,000 to ₹ 20,000.
- If the owner of the vehicle sought help on time, the challan can be exempted.
- But if negligence was taken and the road is jammed, then there will be a heavy fine.
Why this rule was implemented?
Noida Expressway connects Delhi, Noida and Yamuna Expressway, and about 5 lakh vehicles pass through this route every day.
- Every day there are road accidents, causing long traffic jams.
- The condition of the jam on the expressway in peak hours worsens.
- Many times people leave the car carelessly, which disrupts traffic.
This is the reason that the Noida Traffic Police has taken strict steps and implemented the “Breakdown Challan” rule.
Which vehicles will apply to this rule?
Earlier this rule was only for commercial trains, but now all types of vehicles have been applied.
Vehicle type | Challan (₹) |
---|---|
Private car/bike | ₹ 5,000 – ₹ 10,000 |
Truck/bus/commercial vehicle | ₹ 10,000 – ₹ 20,000 |
The car can also be confiscated if needed |
How can you avoid heavy invoices?
If your car suddenly deteriorates on the Noida Expressway, then keep these things in mind:
Turn on the emergency indicator.
Call the helpline number immediately and ask for help.
Try to place the car as soon as possible.
If possible, make arrangements to remove the car without affecting traffic.
If you did not ask for help and leave the car on the road, the police can impose a heavy fine on you!
DCP (traffic) Lakhan Singh Yadav’s statement
Noida Traffic Police DCP Lakhan Singh Yadav said that:
- “This rule will reduce traffic jams on the expressway and will also reduce road accidents.”
