The British motorcycle manufacturer Triumph has launched its new bike speed T4 as an affordable option in the Indian market. This bike speed is a cheaper variant of 400, which comes with some low features, but its performance and riding quality are not affected.

Price hike, yet attractive deal

Triumph has recently increased the price of speed T4 by Rs 18,000, after which its new ex-showroom price has increased to Rs 1.99 lakh.

  • At the time of launch, the price of this bike was kept at Rs 2.17 lakh, which was less than 400 to 23,000 rupees.
  • In December 2023, Triumph announced a discount of Rs 18,000 on it, making it even more economical.
  • However, now this discount is over and the price of the bike has increased to Rs 1.99 lakh.

How is the speed 400 different from speed T4?

Speed T4 is very much similar to speed 400 in appearance, but it has some less features, which makes it more economical.

Main Difference:

  1. Semi-Digital Instrument Console:
    • Speed 400 provides full digital display, while the speed T4 has a semi-digital console.
  2. Single-piece seat:
    • The speed T4 has a single-piece seat, while the speed 400 has a split seat design.
  3. Traditional Suspension Setup:
    • The speed T4 has a telescopic front fork and back mono-shock suspension, which makes it slightly different from the speed 400.

Performance: Strong Engine and Great Ride Quality

The speed T4 has the same 398cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, which is found in speed 400.

  • This engine generates 30.6 bhp power and 36 Nm of torque.
  • It has been paired with a 6-speed gearbox, which provides smooth shifting and excellent riding experience.
  • The suspension setup may be slightly different from the speed 400, but it gives a balanced riding experience on both the city and the highway.
