Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A massive fire broke out at a plastic factory in Indore’s Ban Ganga area on Wednesday. Dense black smoke billowed from the factory, alerting the security guard of a nearby factory, who informed the fire station.

At least five fire brigades rushed in to douse the flames. The operation is still underway as the fire engulfed nearby small factories.

The visuals show the violent red flames rising high as dense black smoke filled the air. It further shows the firefighters hurling the water on the raging flames from the terrace of the opposite building.

The primary cause of the fire is said to be a short circuit; however, exact details are yet to be confirmed.

According to fire brigade officials, the fire broke out in a factory located in Avantika Nagar, near Tigariya Badshah in the Super Corridor area. The incident was reported by a security guard from a nearby factory.

The factory was filled with raw and finished plastic materials. The primary cause of the fire is said to be a short circuit. Plastic, being a highly inflammable commodity, quickly caught fire. The flames soon spread and engulfed the entire factory.

According to the police, the area where the fire broke out has several small factories that manufacture chemicals and other materials. Initially, local residents tried to douse the fire with water, but as it spread, the fire brigade was called. To help extinguish the fire, the municipal corporation also brought in a JCB to break the factory’s shed.
